Large rectangular rugs in an open-plan room can disappear into pattern or dominate it entirely. We selected this one for the mixed footprint design by Nynke Tynagel, where human and animal tracks overlap across a dark background. The design also comes in a round version. It measures 200 by 300 centimetres, sized to read as one surface rather than a string of small motifs.
