Bedroom walls rarely give a headboard anything to lean on, so the padding has to do the work of comfort alone. Andrea Lucatello designed the Ayrton bed with that in mind: the sides sit slightly proud of the frame, holding the sleeper rather than simply backing them.
The headboard is upholstered and finished in diamond quilting, stitched with the precision needed to hold its pattern over years of use. Steel feet in a bright finish support the structure, a harder material set against the soft upholstery above.
