The seat uses foam padding of different densities across the seat and backrest, built for daily comfort rather than occasional use. Patrik Jouin designed the frame, drawing on the intersection of American and Japanese furniture traditions, both built around solid wood construction. The result is a low, wide armchair with soft, minimalist lines that sits easily among other pieces in a living room.
The frame is made entirely from solid Canaletta walnut, left to show its natural grain rather than disguise it. At 74 centimetres tall and 67 centimetres deep, the enveloping seat shape gives the chair a settled, substantial presence that solid wood construction can sustain over years of use.
