Polyurethane foam shaped over a frame and upholstered in fabric gives the indoor version its form, while an outdoor variant is made in rotationally moulded, recyclable polyethylene. Ron Arad designed the chair in 1988, and its journey from limited edition to industrial object is why it is here. Qeeboo now produces it in a range of finishes, at 90 centimetres wide and 86 centimetres high.
What began as a one-off design has become a production piece without losing the proportions Arad gave it. The choice between an indoor shell and a weatherproof outdoor one means the same form can sit inside or on a terrace, built to the same scale throughout.
