After the Primitive Bookshelf, the iconic product designed by Studio Nucleo for Qeeboo, the Primitive Bookshelf XS is a smaller version that can be easily placed in smaller contexts inside the house. This bookshelf is expandible by adding more modules to the first one.

The Primitive bookshelf was one of the strongest and most iconic products designed by Studio Nucleo. Initially made as a limited-edition product, this bookshelf is now industrialized by Qeeboo and re-proposed in a polyethylene version with rotational molding in order to make it accessible to everybody.

The product consists of a module that can create sculptural representations and can create a bigger bookshelf adding a second module to the first one.

“Primitive as primary geometric figure.
Primitive as computational geometry of simple solid objects. Primitive as primaeval, coarse and unconstrained objects.

Primitive aims to fragment and destruct.
To reduce aggregated forms to the most elementary geometry.
Nothing more and nothing less than volume, it bears structure, strength and the vital consistency of the materials.

Primitive evokes the paradox between the movements of the 20th century, from cubism to abstract art, constructivism and suprematism, exposing the double meaning of rationalism and its primordial geometric spontaneity.”

Qeeboo introduces a versatile, free-standing bookcase Koibuchi, designed by Stefano Giovannoni. Conceived as a wall of sectioned and pierced stones, the bookcase’s holes are configured as a series of interconnected irregular spaces that can be used to place books, plants or other objects on. The bookcase can be standing either horizontally or vertically in any space you wish, in an office or in a house, either stand alone to divide spaces or on the wall. Made in recyclable polyethylene and available in different colors, the library can be combined with additional units.

Tangram Shelving

Tangram is modular shelving that draws on the concept of the ancient Chinese game by the same name, dividing a square into seven different parts. Just like the game, you can combine the pieces of this shelving to create new and original geometric shapes: people, animals and objects. Tangram is much more than simple modular shelving: it is a philosophy of life connected to the constant transformation of things.

Air Shelving

A reworking of space that changes the relationship between solid and void. Standing on glass supports, the Air bookshelves seem to float in the air, allowing light to filter through and giving the room a sensation of extreme weightlessness. The transparency of glass hides thick shelves and functional storage units, supported by a hidden mounting system that guarantees stability and safety to the structure. Free from size restrictions, they can be positioned in the middle of a room, dividing space with an element of floor-to-ceiling architectural mimicry.

Target

With its simple design, you’d be forgiven for thinking that there is nothing special about Target. Yet, that is where you would be mistaken. For every cross that is placed in the structure, a somewhat cruel yet pleasing illusion appears: that for every book placed on the shelves, the number of crosses seems to increase at the same time. Target is a bookcase that plays with the imagination as well as the fantasy of the novels that could be found inside of it.

A punk drummer, an English teacher and a jazz guitarist: an unlikely trio? No gentlemen, the Police.

That is, the musical equivalent of this work by Giuseppe Viganò, born from the encounter between three equally heterogeneous ingredients: a modular design, a micaceous structure and shelves in glass or wood. Just as the name of the British band immediately evokes the poignant and passionate tango that made more than a generation sing, the name of Viganò refers to all the microscopic details that are needed to create such a unique piece of furniture. The composition, the balance, the disarming juxtaposition of materials, the composure.

Roxanne blends all these notes into a riff that no one would ever associate with a hit. Nevertheless…

Lady Bird

There are few interior furnishings where something so visible is designed to be seen rather than blend with the rest. Ladybird is a bookshelf designed by Giuseppe Viganò and this does everything to stand out. Iron rod raw metal makes up the rhomboid structure, whilst warm woods or marble make up the shelving. Connected through a unique bolt system, together with the contrast of shapes, a parallel design makes Ladybird a bookshelf with a difference.
